Heirloom Wedding Dress Redesigns

Heirloom Wedding Dress Redesigns | Couture Gown Restyling & Preservation
Each heirloom redesign at Anagrassia is a deeply personal, handcrafted process that honors the original garment while transforming it for a new generation. Whether you’d like to reimagine your mother’s wedding gown into a modern bridal look, a couture reception dress, a First Communion dress, a christening gown, or a bespoke special occasion outfit, I work one-on-one with you to preserve the sentimental value while creating something wearable, flattering, and fresh.
All redesigns are made-to-measure and follow the same thoughtful, couture-inspired process as my custom wedding gowns. Every redesign blends heritage textiles with modern fit, structure, and style.

The Heirloom Redesign Process
1. Inquiry & Consultation
Email me at marygrace@anagrassia.com with a short description of your original garment, your timeline, and your redesign vision. Please include a Pinterest inspiration board link to help guide our conversation.
If your timeline aligns with my schedule, I’ll book a virtual or in-person consultation to assess the gown and discuss what’s possible from both a design and structural perspective. Consultations carry a small fee, which goes toward your final invoice if we move forward.
2. Design & Materials
Once the vision is finalized, I’ll source any additional couture fabrics, linings, closures, or structural supports needed to complete your garment. Many vintage gowns require new corsetry, linings, or underlayers for structural integrity. A detailed quote and contract will be provided, and a 50% deposit is required to begin.
3. Moulage & Mockups
For complex redesigns—such as strapless silhouettes or wedding gowns—I create a custom moulage using your body measurements. This allows us to test fit and form before cutting into your heirloom garment. In-person fittings are ideal, though remote fittings and mailed mock-ups are also available.
4. Construction
I construct each piece using old-world couture techniques and modern tailoring. This includes hand sewing, reinforcement of aging fabrics, and structural underpinnings where needed. Your garment will be both beautiful and strong, ready to last another generation.
5. Final Fitting & Delivery
Final fittings are scheduled 2–3 weeks before weddings or 1-2 months ahead of time for other special events. For long-distance clients, garments are shipped with ample time for review. Final balance is due before pickup or shipping. Preferred payment: Venmo, cash, or check. (Credit card available with fee.)
