Like many creative journeys, the story of Anagrassia begins with a name. One intentionally rooted in family, identity, and craft.
When I first started this brand, I combined my name, Mary Grace, with my sister Anastassia (Tess). The earliest version of Anagrassia grew from that collaboration. Tess offered early creative feedback, helped with photography, and even modeled some of the first designs. It was a small but meaningful beginning that helped lay the foundation of what the brand would become.
Over time, I began to see that the name held deeper significance. “Grace,” from my own name, reflects the Latin root gratia: grace, favor, blessing. It became clear that Anagrassia was the perfect reflection of the brand’s mission: to create garments with thoughtfulness, intention, and a sense of beauty that feels both personal and timeless.
Today, the name represents not just my story, but the broader vision of the atelier: bespoke fashion rooted in heritage, craftsmanship, and elevated design.
