New Sewing Classes & Sip 'n Sew Events


I'm thrilled to be able to finally announce the beginning of classes and sewing events... I will continue to add more in the new year. Prices, availability and themes will vary as Anagrassia grows and I know more about what you would like to see happening! 
 
These classes are a great way to test out the new Singer Elite sewing machines, and are available for purchase in the studio or on the Anagrassia website. Sewing is an incredible upgrade to daily life at home, come see what you are missing!

Sip 'n sew class
Sip 'n Sew
Join us for a fun night of sewing and a glass of wine!
This 2-hour class is open for women over 21 years old. (Minors are welcome when accompanied by an adult.)
The project for the Sip 'n Sew December classes is fleece house socks. This class is for beginners and anyone who would like to sew and sip wine with other women. Students will learn how to cut from a sewing pattern and use domestic sewing machine and serger. 
(This is a great time to test the Singer Elite Sewing machines and sergers, which are for sale in the Anagrassia Atelier.)

 Beginner Cape Sewing Class
Cape Sewing Class for Beginners
 
This listing is for the cape making beginner sewing class.
  
This package includes 5 two hour sewing lessons to make a children's hooded wool cape. 100% Wool and leather buttons are provided and included in the cost of the class. Machines and tools are also provided.
 
Classes are Thursday evenings in December-February. We understand it's a busy time of year or students may have to call in sick, so students can choose which evenings to attend. (Classes expire after February.) The class is created to have students work at their own pace and be surrounded with others working on wool capes and passionate about sewing.

This listing is for the teen and adult sewing workshop for beginners. 
 
Do you want to learn how to sew, read sewing patterns, or upcycle and alter your clothing? Do you want to learn how to use your sewing machine and all the feet and tools needed to sew garments, quilts, alterations, and other projects? If so, this workshop is for you!
 
Before one can properly construct clothing and other items and begin to express individual creativity, she has to master the tools of the machine and other aspects of the production process. In this workshop students will learn everything they need to know about their sewing machines and accessories, and with these basics will already be able to start their own independent projects.
 
This is a 5-hour workshop for beginners. Small lunch and beverages included.
 
In this workshop you will learn:
An overview of your basic domestic sewing machine (mechanical and computerized)
Machine accessories
Machine stitches
Choosing your needles, thread, and fabric
Machine tension
Blind hems, buttonholes, zippers, darning, button sewing (Students will learn how to perform these stitches on their machines, but due to time constraints some may not reach a point of actually practicing them. This is built into the Beginners 102 class, where they will learn and work with zippers, buttons, etc.)

Wool Cape Sewing Class
Wool Cape Sewing Class (Intermediate Level)
 
This listing is for the teen and adult cape making intermediate sewing class.
  
This package includes 5 two hour sewing lessons to make V8876 Cape Vogue Sewing Pattern (Cape Style B). 100% Wool, leather buttons, and interfacing are provided and included in the cost of the class. 
 
Classes are Thursday evenings in December and January. We understand it's a busy time of year and students may have to call in sick, so students can choose which evenings to attend in December and January. The class is created to have students work at their own pace and be surrounded with others working on the same project and passionate about sewing.
