This flower girl-style ensemble was a special custom order for a spring First Communion, combining a classic Anagrassia design with couture textiles sourced from Europe. The result was a timeless and elegant look for a young girl that was both formal and child-friendly—beautiful, comfortable, and made to last.
The Dress
The dress was based on the Anagrassia Communion Dress, Style #5320, and customized with the finest materials for the occasion. The bodice was crafted from custom-ordered French lace, lined with 100% silk jersey for comfort and breathability. The back featured a row of satin-covered buttons, and the dress was finished with a wide silk gazar sashthat tied into a dramatic bow.
The skirt was built with a smooth satin base layer and topped with five layers of soft ivory tulle, creating a voluminous silhouette that still allowed for easy movement. This classic silhouette remains a favorite for communions, weddings, and formal portraits.
The Jacket
To complement the dress, I created a custom jacket using an exquisite floral silk/wool jacquard from Italy—the same textile I used to create the Mother of the Bride jacket for a past wedding (see jacket here). The color palette, texture, and pattern made it a beautiful transitional piece for spring.
